Elisabeth has come to live with us, finally. She wants me to adopt her, which I'm all for. I asked her to take time to think about it, because if I do it, it will mean I'm Dad, not her stepdad. I hope that if I document things as I learn them, it might help other stepparents in my position. Things I have found on the web so far seem to be geared towards second marriages, and it's the first marriage for both of us, or so says my wife. Tiffany, our older daughter, disagrees. She says Mom has been married at least twice before, because Tiffany saw the divorce documents. I can't really say, and I don't really care.
I've only been married once, and I'm STILL married to her.
As my search for understanding of the processes of stepparent adoptions goes on, I will do my best to keep this blog updated with what I learn.
